Why Create Departments?
Departments allow you to allocate lesson costs more accurately within a company. Instead of assigning the entire cost of a group’s lessons to the company on a group by group basis, you can divide the cost among the departments that each student belongs to. This is particularly useful when different departments need to track their own training expenses or when internal budgeting requires a breakdown of costs.
In the Finance Module, when creating a Settlement for a company:
You can calculate the total amount owed per group, or
You can distribute the cost of the lessons across the students’ departments, giving you a more detailed and accountable view of spending within the company.

How to create a Department
Go to Companies – Departments tab and click “Add department“.
A card will appear:
- Enter the department name.
- Click “Save & Close”.
Assigning Students to Departments:
- Open the “Not assigned” list.
- Click “Assign to department” for the student you wish to assign.
Select the department you want to assign the student to and click “Save & Close”.
And the student will be listed as assigned:
